I’ve been jobless for just over two months now after working in the broadcast field, specifically in master control and live event coordinating. I recently moved back to my hometown in Ohio from Los Angeles to save money while living with family, but I’ve hit a wall in my job search. Despite having over 15 interviews, some even going into the third or final rounds, I haven’t had any luck landing a position. I've even applied for entry-level jobs and grocery store positions, but still no success. To make matters worse, I had to visit the ER twice this month without insurance—once for a bug bite and again for a fracture in my elbow. Reflecting on my career, I realize that my tendency to move around a lot in search of better opportunities may have backfired, leading to a series of short-term jobs rather than stable positions. Now, I’m wondering if I should consider transitioning into a different field that utilizes my skills or if I should take on debt to pursue another degree. I’m feeling pretty down and could really use some career and life advice right now. I primarily use LinkedIn, Indeed, and company websites to apply for jobs, and any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
