I’ve been working at my current job for a year and a half, and it’s been a really high-stress environment. The role is completely different from anything I’ve done before, and I’ve been struggling with a coworker who constantly nitpicks my work. Just last Friday, she criticized me for adding an extra word to a report and made a comment that we don’t always work together, which felt pretty harsh. Despite the stress and the difficult coworker, there are aspects of the job I do enjoy. Out of the blue, I received a call from a temp agency I worked with over a year ago. They informed me of a job opening that aligns perfectly with my previous experience and is actually closer to home. It offers better pay and hours too. I have an interview scheduled for tomorrow during my lunch break, and I’m feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety. If I end up liking the job and getting an offer, I’m worried about leaving my current position because of their high turnover rate. I don’t want to leave them in a tough spot, but I also know I have to do what’s best for me. It’s a lot to think about.
