I've been actively applying for jobs and recently started using a Canva template along with some AI tools to enhance my resume. However, I've come across conflicting advice regarding the effectiveness of these designs. Some people claim that companies prefer plain Microsoft Word resumes because they are more likely to pass through Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) without being filtered out. This has left me wondering if I should stick to a basic Word document instead. I want to know if HR professionals really care about whether a resume was created using AI or a template. Is there a risk that a Canva-designed resume could be automatically rejected? I’m curious about the experiences of others in the hiring process, especially since I’ve heard that content should take precedence over design, particularly in the current job market where competition is tough.
