I recently found out that a colleague was let go about a month ago, and there hasn't been any communication regarding her replacement. She was a significant contributor to our team, but her frequent unresponsiveness via phone and Teams ultimately led to her dismissal. Now, her workload has been redistributed among the remaining team members, and we were already struggling before her departure. I'm concerned about the lack of updates from management on whether they plan to hire someone new. The stress is palpable, and with our current hourly status, we can't work overtime to manage the increased workload. I just want to ensure we keep up with our responsibilities without falling behind. It's frustrating to see no action from upper management, and I worry that this could lead to further turnover if things don't improve.

Today, I found out that my company decided to fire a colleague without any prior notice, and now my workload has significantly increased. We were informed that she was let go due to her repeated unavailability while working from home, as she often didn't respond to calls or messages for hours. Now, my responsibilities have expanded to cover her tasks along with another teammate, and it feels overwhelming. I can't help but think that they should have retained her since she was able to complete her work. It’s frustrating that there’s been no communication about whether they plan to hire someone to replace her. The job is complex and would require extensive training for a new hire, which could take months. Moreover, we’re not allowed to work overtime, and I feel that if we’re taking on additional responsibilities, we should be compensated for it. It worries me that if another team member leaves, we might be in a really tough position. I know the company views everyone as replaceable, but this situation seems unsustainable.
