I received a job offer for $85k plus a $10k relocation bonus for a Merchant Support/Operations Specialist role at a small fintech company. My current employer matched the offer but changed my title from Specialist to Analyst, which comes with more reporting responsibilities. I need to decide by the end of the day. The new company offers potential for growth, which is appealing since I feel like my current position in banking could lead to stagnation. However, there are red flags with both jobs, making it hard to trust either option completely. I've always wanted to be an analyst, but the role is in a niche area of banking that I don't particularly enjoy. The new job is more intriguing to me. In terms of work environment, the new job requires 4 days in the office and 1 day remote, while my current job countered with 3 days in the office and 2 remote, which I prefer. I’m not unhappy in my current role, but I find it less compelling. I might just not enjoy working in general, so I’m unsure if the new job would be more appealing. The benefits and PTO at my current job are excellent, and I still don’t know what the new job offers in that regard, especially since I'm set to start on September 9th. I was caught off guard by the counteroffer since I've only been with my current company for a short time, but it’s clear they value my contributions. I could really use some advice on how to weigh these options.
