I recently started my role as a Customer Service Representative at an HVAC company in Canada about two months ago. My job involves answering customer calls, scheduling service requests, and directing inquiries to the right departments. So far, everything has been going well, and I received positive feedback during my monthly one-on-one with my manager. However, I've become anxious after learning that the company hired six new CSRs. With winter approaching, I understand that call volumes may rise due to heating emergencies and maintenance requests, but I can't help but worry about my job security. I'm still within my three-month probationary period, which adds to my nerves. I really enjoy working here and appreciate the supportive environment and my coworkers. I'm curious if it's common for HVAC companies to hire several CSRs before the busy season and whether they typically keep these employees afterward. Could this hiring spree mean that existing employees might be at risk of replacement? Am I just overthinking this given my positive feedback? I would love to hear insights from anyone with experience in the HVAC or customer service fields.
