I've been on and off searching for a job in my home country for the past 2-3 years, hoping to experience life there and see if it's where I truly want to be. During this time, I've worked on strengthening my resume. I managed to secure a fully remote job based in the U.S. with a six-figure salary, which is quite chill and allows me plenty of free time to enjoy life or further develop my skills. However, the role isn't very challenging. Recently, I received an offer from another company in my home country for a position related to my current work. This new role would be significantly more challenging and stressful, with a focus on weekly hour allocation and potential micromanagement. While it could offer learning opportunities and exposure to new tools and industries, the downsides include earning less due to labor regulations, working more hours, having a poorer work-life balance, and needing to go into the office 3 to 4 days a week. This is the first job offer I've received after many applications and interviews, some of which didn't pan out due to mismatched expectations. Now that I have this offer, I'm weighing the pros and cons of leaving my current job versus taking this new opportunity. I'm feeling quite indecisive about whether I'm fumbling this chance or if I should hold out for something that offers skill expansion in a healthier work environment.
