Applied at doctor's office for Unknown

I recently completed two training shifts at a doctor's office after interviewing for a position there. During the interview and my first training session, the manager assured me that the training would be paid. However, after the second shift, I never heard back from the office. Two weeks later, I reached out to inquire about my payment for the training hours, but the manager has ignored my messages. I don't have any written proof of her promise, as everything was communicated verbally. I believe the training was mandatory, as it covered essential tasks like using their system and greeting patients. I even handled calls and performed various duties during those shifts. Now I'm unsure of what steps to take next regarding my unpaid training hours.
