I completed a panel interview for a position in the States about 2.5 weeks ago, and since then, I've been waiting for an update from the recruiter. The process has been quite slow, with long gaps between each step. Here's a breakdown of my timeline: - **July 29:** I applied for the job. - **Aug 26:** The recruiter reached out to schedule a screening call. - **Sept 1:** I had the screening call. - **Sept 9:** I emailed the recruiter to ask about the timeline since I was further along in another process. She encouraged me to reach out if that happened. - **Sept 21:** Out of the blue, I received an immigration questionnaire to start processing my TN visa. - **Sept 22:** The recruiter replied to my earlier email, asking if I had accepted another position. I confirmed I hadn’t and expressed my continued interest. - **Sept 29:** I received an email to schedule the panel interview. - **Oct 8:** I had the panel interview, which I felt went really well. - **Oct 12:** I sent a thank you email and checked in on next steps. - **Oct 14:** The recruiter informed me that she had "sent a note to the team" and would follow up as soon as possible. Since then, I've heard nothing. I know some people might say to move on or that if they wanted me, I would have been hired by now, but the company has been moving slowly throughout this process. They mentioned wanting someone by the end of the year during the initial screening call, so I feel like there's still a chance. Additionally, I have a friend who experienced a similar delay with a big company in this industry, so I wonder if that’s common. I’m contemplating when to follow up again. I was thinking about reaching out on Friday, Oct 30, which would be three weeks post-interview, but I'm also tempted to check in tomorrow (Monday). I’m curious if the visa process could be causing delays on their end. I don’t want to come off as annoying, but I also don’t want to be left waiting indefinitely.
