  1. 1

I had an interview on Tuesday with a previous employer, but for a different department. I left the company on good terms about two years ago, so I was hopeful. The interview was scheduled for 11:30, and I arrived around 11:10, expecting to wait a bit. The receptionist confirmed my arrival and led me to a waiting area. To my surprise, they called me in almost immediately. Once inside, the atmosphere felt off. There were four interviewers, and they seemed somewhat displeased. I didn’t think much of it at the time; I just introduced myself and handed over my resume and certifications, which they declined since they already had them. The interview was quite brief, and they were curt with me. They mentioned I would hear back by Monday, but today I received an automated email saying my application was closed. I’m not shocked I didn’t get the role, but I can’t help but wonder if arriving early contributed to the awkward vibe. Did I misstep by being there 20 minutes ahead of schedule? Should I reach out for clarification? I’m feeling a bit lost about the whole situation.
