I recently accepted a job offer at a small company, knowing that I would only be there for a short period. I feel a bit guilty about it, especially since I'm replacing someone who is retiring. The pay is significantly lower than what I was hoping for, and I've already lined up a new position that starts in September. I've only been at this job for a week, and I'm already thinking about how to prepare for my departure. I don't know much about the role yet, and the person I'm replacing has all the knowledge. I’m worried about whether I'm being unfair to the company or if it's just the way things are in the corporate world. I’ve received some advice that I should just focus on my own career and not feel bad about leaving, but I can’t shake the feeling that it’s a bit of a dick move. I guess I’ll just work until I'm ready to give my two weeks' notice and focus on my future.
