I was laid off from my job at a retail company where I had worked for 18 years. I received a notice and have 30 days to figure out my next steps. I'm just two years away from qualifying for lifetime perks, which makes this decision even tougher. I'm contemplating whether to look for another retail position to bridge the gap until I can secure those benefits or to take the severance package and move on to something new.
