I've been unemployed for just over four months now, and it's really starting to weigh on me. I’ve spent the last sixteen years working as a software tester, and I feel like I’ve hit a wall. In that time, I've applied to nearly one hundred jobs, but I've only managed to land four interviews. The rest of the applications have mostly gone unanswered—about sixty percent of them just ghosted me, and the few responses I did get were rejections. I can't help but think that I might never find a company willing to take a chance on me again. It’s frustrating to see others who seem to easily switch careers or find new opportunities, while I struggle. I’ve always been on the shy side, which makes interviews particularly tough for me. I really don’t enjoy talking to people, and that makes the whole process feel even more daunting. I know I need to keep pushing through, but it’s hard not to feel like I’ve wasted so much time. I just wish I could find a way to break this cycle.
