I recently had a job offer pulled by a company because I turned down an offer from them a few years ago. The company reached out to me a couple of days ago with an offer, but when I followed up about setting up a drug test, the recruiter mentioned that they had decided to rescind the offer due to my previous decline back in 2023 or 2024. It felt really petty, especially since I hadn't worked there before and had accepted another job at that time. I was surprised that they even remembered that and let it affect their decision. It makes me wonder how seriously they take past interactions with candidates.
