I recently received a job offer for a role that is pending a clean background check. As part of the process, I was instructed to list all my jobs from the past seven years. Most of my positions were W-2, except for a short-term role I had as a nanny, which was paid under the table. I didn't plan to mention this job, but since it's on my resume, they are asking about it. I provided my 'supervisor's' contact information, but now they've requested tax documentation. Unfortunately, I didn't report this income to the IRS, so I don't have any verifiable pay stubs to provide. I'm worried about the possibility of them rescinding my job offer since this nanny position is unrelated to the field I was hired in. I'm unsure how to navigate this situation and what my options are moving forward.
