I recently reached the final interview stage for an unpaid internship in the entertainment industry. As part of the final assessment, I am required to read a feature-length film script and provide detailed coverage, which includes summarizing the script and evaluating its potential success. I've done similar tasks before, and it typically takes me around two hours to complete. However, I feel conflicted about the fairness of doing what feels like actual job work without compensation, especially since this is for school credit. I'm wondering if this is a standard expectation in the industry that I should accept, or if it indicates that I should reconsider pursuing this opportunity. I received some feedback suggesting that while it seems like a rigorous task, it's not overly burdensome and could actually showcase my skills effectively. I'm still weighing my options.
