I recently completed three rounds of interviews for a role I was really excited about. The process included a recruiter screening, a technical interview with the team lead, and a 45-minute call with the department manager. I received positive feedback throughout, and I was anticipating either a job offer or a final discussion with leadership. However, today I received an automated email from HR asking me to submit a 2-minute video pitch. They want me to introduce myself and explain why I fit their company culture. I'm feeling a bit frustrated because I thought I had already demonstrated my fit through the interviews. It feels a bit demeaning to have to record a video after investing so much time in live conversations. I really like the role and the compensation is solid, but I'm torn about whether to proceed with this video request or withdraw my application altogether. Is this a common practice now? It just seems excessive after three rounds of interviews.
