I recently had a conversation with an employee regarding my job search requirements while certifying for unemployment benefits in California. They informed me that I don't need to submit proof of my job search, which has been the case for the past month as I’ve been certifying without any issues. However, I was just notified that I need to attend a RESEA (Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment) via Zoom. The questionnaire I received is asking for details about where I've applied and specifics about my applications. Now I'm unsure if I am required to provide this information, especially since I was previously told it wasn't necessary. I've seen comments suggesting that I should keep a log of my job searches just in case, as the EDD can request it during an audit. It seems like I need to start documenting my applications more thoroughly to be prepared.
