I quit my barista job two months ago and started searching for a new job even before I left. It’s been really tough; I’ve faced rejections from hundreds of places. Recently, I’ve even turned down some job offers because they didn’t meet my expectations. I was hoping to find an entry-level administrative position close to home, but the reality has been disappointing. I’ve received two offers: one is a package office job that involves moving boxes and checking documentation, which pays even less than my part-time barista role. The other position has a 2 PM to 10 PM schedule, which I’m not thrilled about. I’m starting to wonder if my expectations are too high and if my experience is holding me back from landing a decent-paying job that doesn’t consume my entire day, including weekends. It’s a frustrating situation, and I’m trying to figure out how low I should go in my job search.
