I currently work for a lawn care company where I've had a frustrating experience with my career progression. I started in sales, then moved to administration, customer service, and recruiting, only to be told I would become a manager, but instead, I was sent back to sales. In sales, my job involves calling previous customers to convince them to return, which is challenging. Initially, I was good at it, but after six months of false promises about moving to an easier campaign, my motivation waned, and my performance declined. Instead of firing me, they needed someone bilingual for the CSR/Admin role, and I thrived there without the pressure of phone calls. However, as summer ended, I was shifted to recruiting part-time while still handling some sales, which I enjoyed because it involved upselling rather than cold calling. Unfortunately, I was recently told I had to return to full-time sales, and I'm back to calling old customers again. It's been two weeks, and I haven't made a single sale. They keep saying they believe in me and that my bilingual skills are valuable, but I feel stuck and discouraged. I’m not sure what my next steps should be.
