I've been working at my current fast food job for 10 years, since April 2016, and I'm starting to feel the pressure as my hours have been cut down from 40 to 20 a week. This drastic reduction is not financially sustainable for me, so I'm actively looking for a new job with more consistent hours. I've applied to at least 10 different positions in food service and customer service, roles that align perfectly with my experience, but I've faced nothing but rejections or silence. It's incredibly frustrating because some of my coworkers, who have less experience than I do, have managed to land interviews at the same places. I can't help but wonder if there's something wrong with my resume or if I'm doing something else incorrectly. My mom suggested that age discrimination might be a factor, as I'm 33 years old, but I’m not sure if that’s the issue. I’m reaching out to see if anyone has advice or insights into why someone with my level of experience and certification could struggle to even get an interview. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
