I recently moved to the USA to pursue a master's degree, hoping it would lead to better job opportunities. After completing my studies during the COVID era, I managed to land a job, but today I was laid off along with several others. To make matters worse, I've learned that my former team is now being hired in India, which feels like a slap in the face. I left India in 2019 because the job market was tough, with only small businesses hiring and offering low salaries. Now, it seems like my college peer back in India has secured a position at my former company in the same domain I just got laid off from. It's frustrating and feels like I'm stuck in a cycle where I can't seem to catch a break.
