I recently received notice that I will be laid off from my full-time contract job in California, which I've been in for about four months. Prior to this, I had been working various contract jobs over the past year, and my current unemployment claim year is set to end on October 3rd. Additionally, I've been juggling a part-time W-2 job that offers inconsistent hours—sometimes I get as few as 4-5 hours a week, and other times I might work up to 20, but it's quite variable. This part-time position is expected to last indefinitely. Given that my full-time job will be ending soon and my claim year is also concluding, I'm wondering if I can file a new claim based on my recent full-time contract work. I'm also concerned about whether my ongoing part-time job might complicate the filing process.
