I was laid off on Monday, August 3rd. It was a chaotic moment as I was in the process of turning in my keys. My boss became upset because I hadn’t finished a project and started raising her voice at me. Things escalated quickly when she placed both her hands on my neck, as if she wanted to choke me, right in front of HR. I was completely shocked and froze in that moment. HR didn’t intervene at all, which left me feeling even more bewildered. This whole experience has been incredibly unsettling.
